Installing the PWA

JuryBinder is a Progressive Web App (PWA). You can install it on your device so it opens like a native application — with its own icon, no browser address bar, and no internet required after the initial install.

Installation is optional but recommended, especially on iPad where it provides a full-screen experience suitable for courtroom use.

Safari on iOS is the recommended browser for iPad installation.

  1. Open Safari and go to jurybinder.com/app.
  2. Activate your license if you haven't already.
  3. Tap the Share button (the box with an upward arrow) in the Safari toolbar.
  4. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  5. Edit the name if you want (the default is "JuryBinder"), then tap Add.

JuryBinder now appears on your home screen with its own icon. Tap it to open in standalone mode — full screen, no browser chrome.

Use Safari for home screen installation on iPad

Only Safari supports Add to Home Screen on iOS. Chrome and Firefox on iPad can run JuryBinder normally but can't install it to the home screen. If you use Chrome or Firefox, use the Export button to save your work rather than relying on the browser's file handling.

Mac or Windows desktop (Chrome or Edge)

  1. Open Chrome or Edge and go to jurybinder.com/app.
  2. Look for the install icon in the address bar — it looks like a monitor with a down arrow (Chrome) or a + icon (Edge).
  3. Select the icon and then select Install.

JuryBinder opens in its own window without browser controls and appears in your app launcher or taskbar.

Alternatively, in Chrome: open the menu () → Save and shareInstall JuryBinder…

Verifying offline capability

After installing, verify that JuryBinder works offline:

  1. Open JuryBinder.
  2. Turn on airplane mode or disconnect from Wi-Fi.
  3. Close and reopen JuryBinder.

The app should open normally with no internet connection. If it displays a "could not connect" browser error, try reinstalling — the service worker may not have finished caching the app on first load.

Uninstalling

Long-press the JuryBinder icon on your home screen → Remove AppDelete App. Your case files are not affected — they are stored in the app's private storage and are not deleted when you remove the app icon.

Open JuryBinder → select the menu in the app window's title bar → Uninstall JuryBinder.

Open JuryBinder → select Settings () → AppsUninstall.

Your case files are separate from the app

Uninstalling the PWA removes the app icon and cached shell, but your .jbinder case files are saved separately on your device's file system. They are not deleted.
